Cel Painting Series - part 1

I have really been wanting to do some cel painting recently, so I finally went to Blick and picked up some dura-lar. It is similar to acetate, but it is acid free and ages much better than acetate does. I also got some India ink to do the line work. It has definitely taken a few tries to figure out the action of the pen on such a slippery medium, but I think I'm finally starting to figure out what works and what doesn't work. For the paint, I am using cel vinyl cartoon color. I absolutely love this paint. It is super vibrant, and sits right where the brush leaves it. Here are a few early explorations into this series. I will try to post more soon!
